Complete designed products and ensure good quality is maintained across all outcomes. Possible forms: zines, videos, websites, etc. Ensure a clear project narrative. Zine contents can be from dissertation or failed experiments
Form & Material
Fluidity of the shape of the artefacts can be further explored. Andreas mentioned that he liked the organic shapes in the reference pictures I used, and that they sort of look like the organisms are in 'motion', which is currently missing from the artefact. Material used so far works, but lacking in the supporting information that goes with the artefact.
Technical Challenge: Making the artefact standalone.
Currently for the first artefact, the sound from the artefact comes from the laptop through interfacing Arduino IDE and Processing. For the artefact to work on its own, it would need some kind of Audio Shield or Teensy Sheild (currently not available in Singapore) so can wait for Andreas’ recommendation. For the second artefact, I will be using addressable LED to achieve the intended outcome.
For the exhibition design, it can start with a small plan first. It could be just a sketch,or maybe a 3D model, or even a navigatable 3D model. All of these would be “proof of exhibition” in varying degrees of complexity, and it depends on how much time I want to spend on them. If theres time, booking a space to set up a small exhibition for documentation (e.g. @ D501) would also be good. Layout, design, curation. Artefact should support the narrative and vice versa.
